Networking is an important part of being an educator. It allows you to make valuable connections and to learn from other people. it provides you with a support system and gives you people to lean on and learn from. Below you will find some of the people I have followed on social media or learned from via field, online, or podcast.
Stephanie Thompson I had the opportunity of working with Stephanie during college. For one of my classes she was my cooperating teacher for the field that went along with the class. While she taught math very differently from how I learned it, I valued what she taught me and learned a lot. Because of her, I now know how to question my students about their thinking in a way that helps them get through mental roadblocks and gets them to think through the mistakes they made when trying to solve a problem. Below I have added the link to her website so you can see what she's about.
Kyle Pearce and John Orr These men are the hosts of the podcast Making Math Moments Matter. Relatable and hilarious, these two make a great team and have a great podcast. I am looking forward to keeping up with them in the future and continuing to learn from them as I listen to their podcast and follow them online.
